The Porsche Master 429 N was offered from 1961! The aim of the Master 429 was to provide a cheaper version in the upper class. The tractor, which was largely identical in construction to the Master 419, received a simpler transmission version, which was equipped with five forward and one reverse gear as standard. An additional crawler gear could be ordered on request.

The Master 429 had a 50 hp four-cylinder diesel engine with a displacement of 3.5 liters. The aim of the marketing strategists was obviously to stop the decline in demand for the large and expensive Master 419 by introducing this slimmed-down model and to fill the order books better again!

Buyers of the standard version even had to do without the front PTO! The 429’s fuel tank initially held just 46 litres, like all other models in its range. However, this was adapted to market conditions shortly after its introduction and the capacity increased to 60 litres!

At that time, additional weights could be ordered as special accessories, which gradually increased the weight of the tractor, front wheel mudguards, a hydraulic power lift with three-point linkage, an operating hours counter, a clock and an attachable belt pulley as well as control hydraulics!

However, this master was very popular in the export markets of South America and Scandinavia, where it was able to prove itself under the most difficult conditions.

The N429 version was equipped with wide fenders and a seat, the V429 had the modified “shell fenders” instead of the wide and seated rear wheel fenders.
