The Porsche Master 418 replaced the Master 408 as early as 1960. The engine remained the same, with a displacement of 3288 ccm and an output of 50 hp at 2000 rpm. The transmission is different, here the ZF group transmission A216 was used, which provided eight forward and four reverse gears in three groups (field, road and reverse). The Porsche Diesel Master 418 was optionally equipped with an overdrive transmission.
About 400 units have been built of the Porsche Master 418. However, some sources say that this figure may be higher.
