The Porsche diesel AP 18 has the larger engine of the later Porsche tractor model AP 22, but with a lower speed and reduced output of only 18 hp. The oil-hydraulic clutch of the AP 22 was also missing and only a ZF or Getrag transmission with five forward gears and one reverse gear was available.
It was only after the war that the former people’s tractors were further developed and finally the new tractors from Porsche were created in cooperation with the Uhinger company Allgaier Werke GmbH. The cooperation between Porsche and the Allgaier company ended in 1956 with the discontinuation of production of the so-called “Allgaier System Porsche”.
The tractor has an air-cooled 2-cylinder 4-stroke engine from Allgaier-Porsche that achieved a performance of 18 hp.
