The 3.5 liter machine and was fitted with the same transmission as the very first Master, the 408. This ZF transmission featured seven forward and one reverse gears. Optionally, 28 km/h could be achieved with an overdrive version of this transmission.

The Porsche Master 409 was equipped with a clutch-independent front engine PTO. It could optionally be supplemented with a belt pulley.

The driver’s platform was accessible via a front step. The driver’s parallelogram seat had full suspension. A rain cover, a heater and a seat for the passenger were optionally available.
